Ötzi is a character who resides within a peaceful family unit consisting of himself, Claudia, and Denisa, in the remote confines of the Ötztal Alps. He is a calm and nonviolent person, principally interested in taking care of both his family and his herds. Unfortunately, his neighbor Guntram disrupts this harmonious existence.

Guntram is a character motivated by animosity and greed, a man who doesn't respect Ötzi's peace-loving demeanor. This resentment escalates to physical violence when Guntram and his cohorts ambush Ötzi during his journey to the high alpine zone. In this incident, Guntram leaves Ötzi injured and defenseless, clearly demonstrating his callous tendencies.
