Cassandra, once mortal daughter of Priam and Hecuba, lives on in the mythic order not as a prophetess, but as a divine artifact — a sentient warning. Created by Apollo and burdened with vision stripped of agency, she speaks truths that no one can deny and no one can contextualize. Her insight is not narrative but atomic: she sees isolated events with absolute clarity, unconnected to past or future, untouched by cause or consequence. She knows only what is, and what will be, without understanding why.

Narrative Role in Protopia

In Protopia, Cassandra serves as a foil to Harmonia — a dark mirror to hope. Where Harmonia sees moral arc and possibility, Cassandra offers certainty without comfort. She cannot hope, cannot plan, and cannot lie. Among the gods, she is acknowledged — but never embraced. She speaks only to them, and only they can bear her presence. Her voice cuts through self-deception, optimism, and strategy alike. She cannot change the future, but she can pierce illusion. In a universe seeking meaning, she is a truth that warns: not all things get better — some simply happen.
